About the Author

Samantha is a twenty-one-year-old literature nerd who only buys purses that are big enough to hold at least one book in them. She focused her literary studies at Wellesley College on literature by women and people of color, and enjoys children's novels, the nineteenth- and twentieth-centuries, and contemporary literature from all places. Some of her favorite authors include Toni Morrison, Maxine Hong Kingston, Charlotte Brontë, Lev Tolstoy, Virginia Woolf, Blue Balliett, Penelope Lively, Thomas Hardy, Kazuo Ishiguro, Madeleine L'Engle, Rita Dove, and honestly countless others. Samantha acted as Editor-in-Chief for Counterpoint, Wellesley's student life magazine, and worked as a tutor in the English Department. She just finished on her senior thesis, which examines bird imagery in two Victorian novels, and earned Honors in the English major before graduating this May. She hopes to continue to document her reading on this blog through reviews, reflections, creative pieces, photographs, and more.
